Elementary Malay: First Lesson

By Abdullah M. Tannaim

Hi, since we are well-versed in Malay language so we are going to present everyone a special segment for Malay language. This is just a promotion and a marketing strategy so those who need our service as translators, interpreters, tourist guide which includes tourist spots suggestions, translator for film, advertisement or even as teachers to teach them Malay for other industrial necessities may contact us for more information on services. This is also intended to those who need teachers to teach their immigrant workers or consultancy as we could plan special module for them.

Malay is spoken primarily in Malaysia as a sole national language while English is used in professional world. However, the government services begin to use Malay as the primary language for dealings since the 1970s. It is also spoken as a national language in Brunei and Singapore but Malaysian Malay language system is more standardized with the Singaporean Malay. One may deal with government offices with convenience through Malay as compared to English though English is widespread in urban areas. Standard Malay is also understood in some parts of Indonesian territories for example in Kalimantan, Riau, Sumatera, Maluku, West Java, Bali and other areas. It is also understood in Southern Thailand for e.g in Satun, Yala, Patani and Narathiwat. Other region that use Malay as a spoken language is Mecca in the Saudi Arabia, some parts of Southern Yemen, Lower Myanmar, Cambodia, Southern Philippines and Vietnam.
